In 2006, she became the first woman to be appointed to the board of Singapore Airlines and in 2014 she became the first Asian to be appointed to the board of directors of Royal Dutch Shell. She has also served, or continues to serve, on the boards of SGX, Aviva, DBS Bank, SATS Ltd. and CapitaLand.
Speaking on her achievements she has said, “I always tell people that I am an ordinary person. I enjoy my life. I managed to get into good schools. You can still do well in life from an ordinary background. If I can do it, so can you too.”
A true trailblazer in her own right and an inspiration for women in Singapore and across Asia!
