JAKARTA – Publicis Groupe Indonesia has appointed Sony Nichani CEO. Nichani, who joined Publicis Groupe as Managing Director in March 2020 will report to Loris Nold, CEO for Publicis Groupe Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. She fills the position left by Brian Capel.

Prior to her MD Role at Publicis Groupe, she was Managing Director at FCB Jakarta, a position she held for four years.

“I am very pleased with Sony’s appointment to lead our Groupe efforts in Indonesia,” said Nold. “It’s a very important market for many of our clients and I am convinced that under Sony’s leadership we will accelerate on our ambition there.”

Nichani began her career in strategic planning at FCB India and has worked across many categories, markets, and consumer segments. For over six years, she worked across the Tata group companies before moving to the client-side leading Tata’s entry into mobile services. At Tata’s, she was the head of brand marketing for over seven years which allowed her to understand both client ecosystems and the role of agency partners. Nichani then moved to Indonesia to set up the planning function for FCB in the region and was then tasked with leading the office in 2016.
